Joining the ranks of Major Nelson, TriXie, Elle and Hardcore is the newest Xbox.com personality Gamer Dad!Â His first article is up and if it’s any forecast of what’s on the way I’m sure he’ll be a great addiciton to the Xbox.com personalities.Â If you want to welcome him or ask him a question don’t hesitate to shoot him an e-mail.

That’s not the real Gamer Dad.

Gamer Dad has been on gamerdad.com since 2003.

Andrew Bub is the real and the best Gamer Dad.

Wow. This is a fine example of ripping off another person’s hard work and press. GamerDad of GamerDad.com has been online for years, and has been quoted by the news media on many occassions.

Xbox.com is apparently eager to use this press for it’s own benefit, without earning the respect, nor putting in the work, to garner it.

What we have here is an attempt to establish false credibility. Sad. You’d think Microsoft would be above this kind of thing…

I’d like to hear one good reason why this new guy should use the name Gamer Dad given that there has been a GamerDad on the web for 3 years doing a great job on all of the topics the new guy wants to cover.

I have nothing against him except that he ripped off an established web persona.

So, why should he use the name? Anybody?

I want to echo the previous comments. gamerdad.com has been running for years and not only provides valuable commentary on the gaming industry from a gaming parent’s perspective but has a lively forum for parents looking for help.

Thanks for the comments guys. We are aware (and were when the post was initially made) that this was not the same GamerDad that has been around for the last couple years. Personally I was kind of surprised that they would use a name that was already commonly known in the gaming community for their new personality.
