When I first played Gears of War, I was amazed that the game was so much fun, and that it could be played with or without friends, especially after hearing about the “TrueSkill Ranking” issues. However, the first patch came, and completely wiped out all ranked matches with friends, and really ruined the Xbox Live slogan, “Jump In.”
However, like many players, we found ways around it, and slowly, but surely were able to enjoy ranked games with friends. But glitches were now showing up, and cheaters, as is the case with any popular Xbox Live game.
Epic promised to make fixes, and even hinted towards a new playlist – Annex. When these updates finally hit players on April 9th, we thought Epic had finally made there fanbase happy… or did they?
Instead of fixing things, Epic has only made things worse…
- Annex = No Achievements? A real slap in the face for the players who were excited to play the new gametype. Whats the incentive if the only thing a new gametype offers is a leaderboard?
- Glitches gone? Rather, more glitches possible? I was able to play 1 glitch free game the night of the update. A few days later, and now only are the chainsaw glitches back, but I have seen many new glitches pop up
- New maps cost money? I can’t really complain, but if you think people are pissed about the new update, I can’t imagine the uproar when the new maps come out, and the players find out the price
- Ranked games, still without friends? Heres my advice, let Xbox Live players play ranked games with there friends. Isn’t that the entire purpose of Xbox Live Gold? Being able to enjoy Multiplayer with friends?
Hopefully, Epic does the right thing, and makes a real update.
