Bungie Goes Indie…[UPDATE]

By | October 5, 2007 | Xbox 360 |

The rumors over the last couple days are true and Bungie is now privately owned and is no longer any part of Microsoft.  While the split is complete Microsoft still maintains ownership of the ‘Halo’ IP as well as the plan to publish the other Halo titles in development (‘Halo Wars,’ and the Steven Jackson project).

The important thing to keep in mind is that this is not so much a split between the companies but the fact that Bungie just purchased itself back from Microsoft after 7 years of being a part of them.  The two companies will still continue to have a very productive and cooperative future together.
