New Xbox Originals coming to Xbox Live? [Updated]

By | February 3, 2008 | Xbox 360 |

Conker and Jade Empire

We’ve just received new assets from Microsoft for two new Xbox Originals that could be coming to Xbox Live. These “new” games include Conkerâ„¢: Live and Reloaded and Jade Empire (although, probably not the limited edition, so you won’t get Monk Zeng). Both games are on the backwards compatability list, so this seems credible. While we have not yet received a comment on these upcoming titles, we believe these may be the newest additions to the Xbox Originals library. Since it is Saturday night, we weren’t able to reach Microsoft for a comment, but as soon as we are able to, we’ll update this post. Keep your fingers crossed and hope that we’ll soon see these two titles on Xbox Live soon!

Jump to Conkerâ„¢: Live and Reloaded and Jade Empire on Xbox.com.

Update 1: [DaKing240] While we still don’t have any confirmation on these titles, we have recieved word that BLACK, Ninja Garden Black and Sid Meier’s Pirates! have been confirmed as the next games that will be hitting the Xbox Live Original program! The will be available on February 11 on Xbox Live.

Update 2: [DjDATZ] Turns out all the speculative material has been removed in the last 12 hours. This could go either way now.

Update 3: Destructoid did some investigative work, and found out that these titles aren’t coming [yet]. The press materials were put up for an upcoming trivia site.

I never played Jade Empire but it should be good since its coming from Bioware! All I want is KoToR 3 on 360 in 2008.

I would buy Conker if they would redo the game to add widescreen support.

Personally, I’ve never played either, and I would consider buying them if they were enhanced versions or priced lower. Conker looks really interesting and fun, while I know the pedigree of BioWare from playing Mass Effect and would expect Jade Empire of comparable quality.

As things stand now, I can go into my local EB Games (yes, it still exists here in Canada) and pick up a copy of either of these two, or any of the Originals already on the service, for about half the price of what they are on XBL…

3The December 2005 update includes the Monk Zeng content from the limited edition of Jade Empire.

This is from the BWC list so I’m sure the DLC will include it as well.

@Hartman: I took that as meaning that it supports the limited edition now, but not necessarily that the limited edition will be then one on Xbox Originals. :D

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to find the titles used than to buy them off of the marketplace? The only benefit of having them on the console is that I could be lazy and not get up off of the couch :)

@K1cks yea…that would be logical…to get them in a store for cheaper than off of XBL.
