It seems that just the other day we were talking about EA and Monopolies, but this one will only affect NFL fans. In news that I hate reporting, cause unlike some, I actually like having two products and competition which usually ultimately leads to overall better games.
EA has wrapped up a contract with the NFL to continue being the sole provider of NFL video games. Yet, the contract is much more then simply next generation systems.
Both agreements grant exclusive rights for action simulation, arcade-style and manager games on the PC, handheld game devices and consoles.
These agreements – which were negotiated separately and are extensions of contracts originally signed in December 2004 – provide EA continued rights to NFL teams, stadiums and players for its critically-acclaimed and best-selling football videogames through the end of the 2012 season, which culminates in February 2013.
Anyone care to play some NFL 2K14 when the time comes?
