gdc08 Day 1 here at GDC is pretty much over with, with the exception of some optional late night parties. So, what did we do?

To recap the day, we first took a tour of the Moscone Convention Center, which is huge! I only made it to the West Wing [no, not the show], but it was crazy seeing all the people representing companies, publishers, developers, fan sites, blogs, tv stations, just any imaginable place. We first bumped into writers from Kotaku, and the MTV Multiplayer blog. As the day progressed we then spoke with members of the Joystiq network, which also included Richard from Xbox 360 Fanboy.

While watching a presentation on N+, we then met the developers over at NinjaBee. For those unaware, they are bringing the Doritos branded XBLA title to Xbox Live, but the good news is, the advertising is being kept at a minimum, and will actually be a fun game, [at which we then poked some fun at some recent failures, cough Yaris].

We capped off the night eating at a local burger joint with our friends at Freeverse. Besides the upcoming Airburst game that they are working on, we got confirmation that DLC is in the works for Marathon. When we get some more concrete details, we’ll be sure to pass it on.

And so, that ends Day 1, but stay tuned tomorrow as we bring you more information from GDC.
