In the comments of my first Mass Effect Live Blogging, Shane (sedington86) mentioned we should do some Army of Two co-op. I graciously accepted. So, in keeping with the recent live blogging theme, here we go! The live blogging starts after the break! Hit Read More to follow along.

11:40 PM Co-op started with the training level.

11:46 PM Co-op snipe finished.

11:48 PM Back to back training finished.

11:49 PM Just saved Shane after he walked past the mine on the wall. On the way to Somalia now.

11:56 PM Went up against the first boss and Shane got downed and killed.

11:58 PM Up against him again.

12:00 AM Pulled the balcony down with the chain.

12:02 AM Finished him off.

12:05 AM On the two turrets.

12:08 AM Done the mission. In mid-mission shopping now.

12:11 AM Mid-mission shopping done. Off to Afganistan. Parachuting down to the ground.

12:12 AM Back to back on the ground.

12:13 AM We both got pwned. Restarting from the last checkpoint.

12:17 AM Okay, past that first area after I died twice.

12:23 AM Destroyed the first missile.

12:37 AM On the long Parachuting to the next missile depot.

12:39 AM At the next missile depot. About to get ugly.

12:41 AM Destroyed the second missile.

12:43 AM I got pwned by the Heavy Armor guy upstairs.

12:47 AM Now we can’t even get out of the first room.

12:52 AM Finally got back up by the stairs.

12:54 AM Taking the elevator down a level.

12:59 AM Stuck a bit on the gassy level.

1:12 AM Finally past that gassy level and I got my Stonewall achievement. (Kill 50 guys with the riot shield)

1:23 AM “Stuck” on the next level. We suck.

1:42 AM Finally, on the big square level with the tanks in the middle. The level of the Afghanistan boss.

1:46 AM Killed the boss, going to destroy the warheads.

1:48 AM Warheads destroyed.

1:50 AM Going to Iraq. Shane’s in mid-mission shopping.

2:18 AM In the 2nd part of Iraq, we keep dying in the first bit of it.

2:27 AM We got through the first bit!

2:35 AM This is getting harder and harder.

2:39 AM My 360 froze while trying to load a section after we died.

2:41 AM We’re back in business. Going back into a Mission 3 checkpoint.

2:42 AM Private chat enabled. Game on.

2:43 AM Nice! Sniped a guy through a door Shane was holding just as he was about to smash him with the door.

2:46 AM Moving on through a big steel door.

2:53 AM On through the next door.

2:58 AM At Ali Yussef’s base. We both just got killed by an RPG.

3:05 AM Just destroyed part of the base by calling in an airstrike.

3:08 AM We both just got killed by suicide bombers. Damn it.

3:13 AM Got the 5 Kills in Co-op snipe achievement.

3:17 AM Called in the airstrike again.

3:40 AM Back to back now. We’ve unlocked about 10 achievements during this playthrough. Keep ‘em comin’.

3:45 AM Up the ramp to the last area!

3:50 AM Onto the last area in Iraq.

3:53 AM Got the Spray and Pray achievement. (Kill 250 guys with the Mini-gun)

3:57 AM We keep getting killed by the heavy guy.

4:04 AM Up against Ali Yussef.

4:09 AM Killed Ali Yussef. w00t! Halfway through the missions.

4:10 AM Watching a video on the privatization of the military.

4:12 AM In mid-mission shopping. Switching out my minigun. Bought up all the masks. Got the achievement for it.

4:18 AM Spent a fair bit of time shopping. Off to the aircraft carrier.

4:35 AM Wow, with enemies coming from everywhere and a horrible aiming system, we just can’t live.

4:50 AM Finally got inside the carrier.

4:57 AM Welded a hole in the floor and jumped through.

5:09 AM Going up the elevator to the captain.

5:10 AM Talking to the captain.

5:13 AM Down the elevator again to go to sink the ship.

5:20 AM Opening the hydraulic doors.

5:25 AM Pushed the bombs onto the platform. The ships about to sink.

5:26 AM On the flight deck now.

5:28 AM Off the ship. On a speedboat. Mission 4 Complete. Achievement unlocked. We’re playing on professional by the way.

5:33 AM Co-op sniped the tank under the bridge.

5:35 AM In the hovercraft.

5:37 AM Done the first part of the hovercraft mission. In mid-mission shopping.

5:38 AM Got the Stinger. And pimped it too. Bought some upgrades for my Felin-C as well.

5:40 AM Out of shopping and back to the mission.

5:44 AM Gates opened, hovercraft driven in.

5:50 AM Back in mid-mission shopping after we died. I switched my Stinger for a sniper rifle and Shane switched his RPG for a Stinger.

5:51 AM Trying that part again.

6:03 AM Having some trouble with the floodgates mission.

6:21 AM Finally out of the floodgates.

6:42 AM Struggling on the next part.

6:54 AM Finally, we get a checkpoint and the gate blows up.

6:58 AM Onto the part past that door. Shane decides to go shopping.

7:00 AM Shane’s done shopping.

[Dario's Firefox crashes and we lose a couple updates like Dario unlocking the Alright, Who Wants Some? achievement.]

7:35 AM On one of the last sections in China.

7:49 AM Onto the door that explodes.

7:50 AM Back to back now.

7:56 AM Past the back to back part. Into the complex we go!

8:37 AM FINALLY DONE China.

8:42 AM On to the airport.

8:50 AM Smashed through the double doors on the third floor.

8:57 AM One Shot. One Kill. achievement unlocked.

9:07 AM If It Bleeds, We Can Kill It achievement unlocked. w00t!

9:32 AM Got to the hovercraft part.

9:57 AM Off the hovercraft and on the monorail!

10:01 AM At the station right before the last building.

10:23 AM Got into the elevator room. Now to get back to the front desk!

10:37 AM On the roof! Well, a roof.

10:46 AM Checkpointed right by the stairs to Clyde.

10:51 AM Clyde is toast. Got kicked out through a window. Cutscene of us chasing and shooting down a helicopted with Dalton on it.

10:52 AM Ending cutscene.

10:53 AM Achievements unlocked: Mission 6 Complete and Elite PMC.  Game over. Credits rolling.

And that’s a wrap! After 11 and 13 minutes, Shane and I are done Army of Two Co-op Campaign on Professional. There were some hard parts to the game, and parts we really got stuck on, but overall it was fairly enjoyable. Much more enjoyable than a playthrough with the AI partner.
