Today EA announced the ship date and the special edition for Madden 09, the perennial big seller for EA Sports. The special edition includes both the full Madden 09 game, the usual extra videos that come with special editions, the full NFL Head Coach 09, and some sort of a classic madden game as well. There is a catch in the the special edition will cost you $89.99 instead of the $59.99 you would pay for the normal game. Any takers? Here’s some press jive for you guys, and the official logo.

Electronic Arts Inc. announced today that Madden NFL 09 will be available in retail stores in North America on August 12, including a special collector’s edition in celebration of the 20^th anniversary of one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time. The two games offer unique experiences and then can even interact with one another with gamers being able to import their user-designed plays from NFL Head Coach 09 and put them into Madden NFL 09 to create customized playbooks for complete control on the field.
