Sierra Entertainment today announced the release date of the upcoming game Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Conspiracy, with a date of June 3rd. That date seems all well and good at first, but another game comes out on the same day. A big game. A game by the name of Ninja Gaiden II. Considering Ninja Gaiden II is almost guaranteed to be a hit, this could be a bad decision to release their game at the same time.
One good thing going for it, even though it is a movie/book game, it isn’t at the same time, in the sense that it is not tied to the release of the movies, or using the exact same story. The time is being taken to make sure it is not just a cash in on the franchise, at least it would seem that way. Hopefully the gameplay, changing from gunplay to hand to hand combat and chase scenes works together seamlessly, and the new story is as good as the others. If so, I’m sure it will do fine, even with an anticipated game such as Ninja Gaiden II right next to it. In the upcoming months I’m sure we will get a bunch of game impressions and more gameplay info to truly find out if Jason Bourne can stand up against Ryu.
