After countdowns and not knowing what exactly for, the first new title under the Tom Clancy name since Ubisoft’s buyout of the name, has been announced exclusively on IGN. The new title is called Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. In development by Ubisoft’s Burcharest Studio, and set for release this fall, HAWX is a airplane dogfighter set in 2012. With more than 50 planes, a global conflict on the horizon, and private military companies bigger than ever, sounds like there will be plenty of action to say the least.
HAWX features what Ubisoft is calling an Enhanced Reality System (ERS), a system that includes all of the information you could want when in a dog fight. Radars, missile detection, damage control, anti-crash, tactical map, weapons trajectory…you get the idea.
HAWX also is going to feature 4 player jump in co-op, and 16 player multiplayer with ways to rank up your players and weapons as well.
In the trailer, there is mentions of the Ghosts from Ghost Recon, and there is a mention of a commander Mitchell character from EndWar as well. Does it matter? There is some sort of connection, we shall see how big of one it is, but there is some cool possibilities there for sure.
So, who’s excited? Now watch the trailer. Now you are.
