Unlock The Achievement Update

 

I just wanted to go over a few things with regards to the Unlock The Achievement contest. First off, we have to say thank you to everyone so far for participating, the support from the community has been tremendous, and it wouldn’t be such a success if it wasn’t for all of you. With that being said, we still need to touch on a few subjects.

Errors – It has come to our attention that some visitors are getting referral problems when clicking an achievement. Now, the system that we built for the contest was told to only accept an achievement if it came from the website it was built for. This was done to ensure that no one was cheating, copying and pasting locations, that sort of thing. However, it has been backfiring for legit achievements hunters, and we apologize for that. The most common reason seems to be Norton Internet Security, or some other related program that runs on your computer. Try disabling it and that should fix most of the problems. If not, try a different browser… and if that doesn’t work, post a comment here!

Prizes – The idea behind the concept was to help charity, and bring the community closer. Now, originally, we only had prizes for the top 100 winners. This is not the case anymore, for we now have prizes from D3Publisher and Capcom, and will be handing them out randomly as the contest progresses. Therefore, anyone participating has a chance to win some free stuff!

Charity – We have a pretty big announcement we are getting ready to share with regards to the charity aspect of the event… surely you didn’t think we were only going to send a box of games to call this a charity event, did you?

Hidden Achievements – Oh, we love hidden achievements. We are going to be hiding some on new sites, and the first people to find them will… win some more Instant Prizes! We aren’t giving any hints, so best of luck to those who find them!

Cheating – Finally, we know some people have been cheating. Now, its beyond me why someone would want to cheat, maybe for attention, maybe to win a free game, or some other reason – either way we don’t care how you justify it. We are fully aware who has been receiving help, and plan to make sure that anyone using these methods will not receive any prize. Simply put, if you cheat, we know, and you are only wasting your time. We haven’t taken names off the leaderboard, but we are gearing up to do some resets sometime tomorrow.
