Confirmed: Brett Favre Madden 09 Cover Athlete

As was speculated earlier, tonight on David Letterman, Brett Favre confirmed that he is indeed the Madden 09 cover athlete. It will be one final honor to an illustrious career by an amazing athlete. Also, the Madden curse is gone, at least this year, as a retired player can’t lose a season to injury. In all seriousness, on the 20th year of Madden, it seems right to have one of the best QBs of the last 20 years (and all time) grace the cover.

    I can stiil remember the incompletes Favre threw in ATL, his first pro passes. Each ball went high and was so quick the receivers were getting there hands up to catch when the ball was already ten yards past them. That “kid” showed so much excitement, just to be out there playin’ football…Well, I was a fan for life.

    I’m gonna miss him, and seriously, I hope the Curse doesn’t get him, that family’s had enough to deal with.

    Don't worry, EA said they would be putting up a printable cover on their official site sometime very soon, that'll have Brett as a Jet and not a Packer…
