As I write this editorial, I shake my head, and ask myself what EA was thinking when they hit "send" on the press release - thus announcing, a sick and twisted idea, Monopoly at a retail price on the Xbox 360. Honestly, how can a company get away with reinventing the wheel, and putting a regularly priced board game that normally sells in the 10-20 dollar range, and feel like people are going to agree with a 40 dollar Monopoly game! As if that wasn’t bad enough, it won’t be on Xbox Live, but no, you’ll need to explain to GameStop why you purchased Monopoly instead of say, GTA IV or Call of Duty 4. Why they didn’t just choose the Xbox Live route is beyond me!
It truly upsets me, since I have been following the game, and information on it for the last few months, and this is how EA repays us? Its a slap in the face, where is Sarcastic Gamer when we need another protest?
So, if the rumored 40 dollar price is true, will you be purchasing Monopoly for the Xbox 360, and if you are against the price, would you be up for a protest?
I am still waiting for the DLC plans… purchase 5 Get out of Jail free cards for 400 Points…
