It depends. If the controls are hard I'd opt for traditional games but if they're nice and easy, XBOX Live Arcade.

I like to play them on the XBLA over Xbox Live since my Family doesn't sit down to play board games so I am stuck with video game versions of them.

XBLA… It's impossible to locally get enough people together for a boardgame. XBLA lets me expand the pool to the entire planet…

Board game. You get to play with your own custom rules and it's a lot more fun to play with people in the same room. They're the original party games. :

I actually like playing on xbox better. My girlfriend collects german mostly board games and has a whole room full of them, so I can actually say that I've played most XBLA board games in both forms. I like them on Arcade better because the game does all of the counting for you. Playing Carcasson is much more fun when you don't have to sit there and count scores when the game is over.

I prefer actual board games with friends, but if I can't get anyone to sit around and play the actual game I also enjoy playing on XBLA.
