This week on XBLA Today, I shall be taking a look at Warlords, one of two releases this week on XBLA. We have already taken a good look at the other, Buku Sudoku.

Warlords is another “classic” Atari game with the upgraded graphics and classic graphics done for XBLA. The gameplay is more or less 4 player breakout/pong. That’s it. You protect your wall, and break everyone else’s to hit the inside of their to win. You can “catch” the ball and charge it up to throw it at high speed at others walls.

As usual, there is no reason to play it on the classic graphics mode, and the updated mode looks good. With it being such a simple game, that’s not to hard though. It’s better then some of the other arcade classics, but it’s still more than likely going to get stale fast. There is vision cam support so you can see your friends questioning why they picked up the game as well.

In the end, if you remember it, it’s better then some of the other classic Atari revamps, and could be worth a pick up. Otherwise, unless the demo hooks you with the mechanic, let it be. It will probably get boring fast, and you’ll end up out 400 points. We love you Atari, for the memories, and some new stuff too, but these type of games are getting old on XBLA. Thanks for stopping by, see you next Wednesday on XBLA when we check out…something.
