Hot off the heels and press reels of yesterday’s release date announcement, is word of Prizefighter going gold. This is in preparation for its planned June 10th release to the Xbox 360. For those not in the know, in terms of video games, when a game goes gold, that means that the development studio is “done” with the retail game and it gets shipped off to get burned on to millions of DVDs. After the game goes gold, the developers usually work on patches/updates and downloadable content (DLC).

Personally, the June 10th date, looks more like a ’ship’ date rather than a street date, meaning store shelves should see the games themselves show up anytime between the 10th and the 13th or so. Don King Presents: Prizefighter is both a boxing simulator game as well as a documentary-style boxing drama. It is really a groundbreaking new title, that will expand the boxing genre and looks to be the most realistic boxing title on the 360.
