We got word from Load Inc. that the multiplayer aspect of the upcoming Things on Wheels XBLA game is complete. Ironically, this week is also the 1 year anniversary of the previous game they released - Mad Tracks (which sold over 100,000 copies!). Yet we haven’t really covered Things on Wheels lately, and one of the first things we were told is that they are 2 completely separate games (in case people thought that ToW and Mad Tracks would be the same type of game.)
ToW is a strictly racing game, which is a tribute to ReVolt (RC Cars). When speaking to Denis from Load Inc (the developers behind the title), he stressed how the game was much more mature then Mad Tracks, and fast… very fast, which isn’t easily evident in the trailers going around. So when the game comes out, that will be one of the things we are going to test… the speed of the game.
We had some questions for the multiplayer aspects though, like time involved and what needed to be improved from Mad Tracks. Load Inc spent about 5 months working on the multiplayer for Mad Tracks, but cut down the time spent on ToW to 3 months! Looking back, they mentioned that they forgot to do lobby management… but we don’t think it will be a problem this time around. We can also see from the trailer that was released in April that it will take place in an upscale house.
Still no word on the set of achievements and a release date, but when we get a heads up, we’ll be sure to let you all know. As usual, if you have any questions for the game, feel free to comment… cause you never know who may show up to answer some of your questions
Oh, and enjoy the high resolution picture!
