Good afternoon ladies and gents, and welcome to another edition of XBLA Today. I am your host Shane “sedington86″ Edington, and today we are going to take a quick runthrough with a cute little frog, and some people with guns.

Frogger 2 is what we in the industry like to call “cute”. The characters in the story (yes, there is a story mode, and it’s overly cute as well) are drawn cute to the likings of children, and the game seems to try to cater to that type of audience. The player can move around, attack enemies with their tongue, and that’s about it. The original was fun for it’s time, and besides graphics, adding attackable enemies, bosses and new items, it’s basically the same. It was fun then, and is somewhat fun now, but not worth 800 points.

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 is a classic top-down shooter done for the new generation. With slightly cartoon like graphics and geometry wars controls, it plays quite well, kind of like Assault Heroes. The biggest thing here is the 3 player online or offline co-op for you and your friends. That kind of play is what Xbox Live is all about. Don’t forget that the beta to Super Street Fighter II HD Remix comes with the game (it is not available for download yet, but will be soon).

So we got a Frogger game, little to cute, and a little to pricey, otherwise ok. On the other side we have another good top down shooter with plenty of action and co-op play seals the deal. Thanks for stopping by on this quick edition of XBLA Today! See you online!
