Though the announcement Bungie games had been working towards has been postponed by Microsoft, according to Stephen Totilo from MTV Games Multiplayer Blog in a recent interview shot for MTV games, Don Mattrick (Senior Vice President, Xbox/Games For Windows/Live) confirmed Bungie is working on a new game in the Halo franchise.

When asked about the lack of Halo news in Microsoft’s Monday press conference, he mentioned the amount of content in the press conference was enough to get gamers excited, making the Halo specific news unnecessary.

In the interview, when pressed for information on Halo Wars (the upcoming Halo strategy title), he confirmed Bungie were working on a Halo game with Microsoft that had nothing to do with Halo Wars.

Whether this is what was planned for announcement is unknown at this point, what we do know is there is something Halo related coming from the studio that started it all.
