Next Bungie Project Teaser Trailer Released

By | September 25, 2008 | Uncategorized |

Over the last couple of weeks Bungie has been posting cryptic information concerning the title they are working on, it was presumed this was the announcement they were originally going to make at E3 before they were cut short by Microsoft.

While the previous two updates were a combination of an image and some cryptic text that appeared to be the dialogue between some sort of computer construct and something else, the latest update consists of a teaser trailer just over one minute long available in Quicktime, Window Media Video and (coming soon) the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The video itself shows a scene of a city being struck with what appears to be drop pods of some nature, it reveals a few things about the previous updates, notably that they are from the point of view of whatever is filming the event (a security camera around new mombasa?), and that the new title in question is something to do with Halo 3 (a new campaign?).

While it’s unknown what specific content this is, it could well deal with the initial covenant attack on earth, with the “pods” being very close to other USNC design’s, there’s certainly fighting going on (we can hear distant gunfire in the opening of the video) and we can be sure it is in the Halo 3 world based on both the Halo 3 logo being displayed in the end and the Halo 3 companies being displayed in the video (the first building displays the word “Traxus”, a company name used in Halo 2 & 3 on shipping containers).

Enjoy the teaser.

NEW Halo 3 campaign experience!: http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh281/spitfire…

So far, without much speculation and more of just observation, we know this:

It's obviously in the Halo universe (hence the Halo 3 message)

The city is New Mombasa (It is clearly read on the city's signs and in the SI's analysis and reboot)

The things falling from the sky appear to be Human Drop pods, like the one's used on Delta Halo.

In the opening city scape, there appears to be a covenant cruiser in the sky behind the space elevator. (Note that it is not visible after the first close-up shot of the drop pods): http://flickr.com/photos/adammagana/2886946169/si…

Before the drop pods land, the city appears to have already seen some chaos and evacuation.

Also before the drop pods land, the SI's status message says that an EMP has tripped (the white light emitting from the middle of the city is representative of this.)

Hey guys, I was summoned by a fellow Halo fan to share my information here.

I have a few sources at Bungie and they've given me a lot of credible information over the years regarding upcoming projects.

As far as this new "Halo 3 Experience" goes… I've enquired about it but they haven't told me much. Apparently ever since Bungie went independent, they've sectioned off the company into teams for developing different projects.

According to my sources, Bungie has not yet allowed information to be shared between employees working on different projects.

From what I was told, Bungie is currently developing or supervising 3 different projects…

One is a squad-based FPS, centering around either a group of ODST's or the Spartan III's from "Ghosts of Onyx". Hence the phrase… "Prepare to drop".

Another is the continuation of our favorite storyline, with Halo 4. Although there is still speculation that Gearbox maybe working on that. (my sources have not confirmed this yet)
((I also have quite a few large storyline details about Halo 4 if you're interested))

The other is the SUPER-Secretive Interactive Peter Jackson Halo Experience. I know NOTHING of this and in fact it's shocking how little anyone at Bungie knows. Only the people directly involved could tell you. That is why there hasn't been a single update of information on this for almost a year or so.

As always feel free to e-mail me should you have any questions about all things Halo.

    Regards,
