Since the New Xbox Experience will require at least 128MB of available memory (as well as an additional 8MB for Netflix) Microsoft has come up with a plan to offer affordable, and even free, storage to those users who may have a Core/Arcade console and don’t have the required space to download this mandatory update. Simply by going here and entering your console’s serial number and console ID you can see if you are eligible for the offer. If you are able to take advantage of this you will be able to choose between a free 512MB memory unit or a refurbished 20GB hard drive for $20. Let us know if this offer works for you.

Well since I have a Core, I will get myself a free memory card
That is awefully nice of Microsoft to do that but it for some reason, every time I look at their business decisions, it seems like they are putting themselves in bigger financial holes. Oh well I guess its not my problem but I kinda want a free memory card…
Cool, that's great they are willing to help people out on their mandatory downloads ..
Wow terrible wording, when I go to their site and fill in my console information (I have a console with a 20gig HD) I receive the text…
"According to our records you own a console which has enough memory to connect to Xbox LIVE and live the new Xbox Experience. The next time you turn on your Xbox 360 console and connect to Xbox LIVE you will receive the update. Have fun!
If you feel you are receiving this message in error and own an Xbox 360 or Xbox 360 Arcade console please validate your serial number and reenter it here. Xbox 360 Pro and Elite consoles come with enough memory and are not eligible for this upgrade."
But hold on a sec "the next time you turn on your Xbox 360 console and connect to Xbox LIVE you will receive the update" well no, no I won't because the update is due out on the 19th of November…
I was actually gonna comment on this. LOL…
"the next time you turn on your Xbox 360 console and connect to Xbox LIVE you will receive the update"
No. I won't. It's due on the 19th of November, so the next time I sign into Xbox Live on my 360 on the 19th, I'll get the update. Get your facts straight. lol
Yea, they might be, but that's your problem. Take the very-discounted HDD and run with it.
But yea, their strategic management and solution for the 360 does need a bit of a shift…
First, it's $20…and I would suggest the 20GB HDD instead of the memory card. Unless you have an HDD already, in which case go for the memory card!
Edit: excuse me. The memory card is free but the HDD is $20. lol
