By Microsoft has posted a list of all the festivities going on for the launch of Gears of War 2! Here’s a short list with the whole press release later in the post:
- 20,000 stores are holding midnight launch events on the night of the 6th, and Gears of War 2 will go on sale at 12:01 am on November 7th. Participating stores will also be giving away download codes for exclusive in-game gold-plated Hammerburst Assault Rifles.
- Xbox LIVE Weekend: There will be game with fame evens from November 7th to the 10th, where gamers can play with Epic developers, and also win some cool prizes. Details will be announced soon on GearsOfWar.com.
Epic and Microsoft are offering some cool DLC as well for gamers:
- Flashback Map Pack and Xbox LIVE Gold Membership: The Flashback Map Pack will be available to anyone who purchases a new copy (obviously to stifle the resale value of the game) of Gears Of War 2. It’ll include 5 popular maps from the original with a little bit of cosmetic work done on them: Canals, Gridlock, Mansion, Subway and Tyro Station. Also, each copy of GOW2 will include a 48-hour trial code for Xbox LIVE Gold.
- Gold-plated Lancer Assault Rifle: Everyone that gets the Limited Edition of Gears of War 2 will get a download code for an in-game gold-plated Lancer Assault Rifle.
- Get started with Gamerscore: The Gamerscore Blog team will be launching a series of videos in partnership with Epic Games about hints for GOW2.
