Previously, if you used MyGamercard.net‘s or Zaam‘s gamercards, and someone had a new shnazy gamerpic created by taking a photo of your avatar on the NXE, all you would see on Xbox.com, or the gamercards would be a question mark with an alternate text of “Xbox 360 Dashboard” if you checked to see where their picture was from. Also, if you were on your 360, the original Xbox logo gamerpic shows up. Now however, if you look up a gamercard via MGC now, you will see the actual avatar gamerpics. The avatar gamerpics do not yet work with Zaam’s gamercards, but we’re sure he’ll get on it right away; in fact, if you go to his site and try to generate a gamercard, you will notice that he has an option to “Use Avatar,” so there is something cooking already. As we draw closer to the release of the NXE, we’re sure more and more features will be enabled.
Here are some pictures to show exactly what we’re talking about, we’ll use our resident Sam Law, who received the NXE as part of the NXE Preview Program.

And finally, I’m sure some of you would like to preview what an avatar looks like right? Well, we’ve got that for you too, also from MGC.

You can see anyone’s avatar just by using this code, and changing “Spazil” to that person’s gamertag:

And finally, we know the alternate text of the avatar pictures will be “Personal Avatar” courtesy of MGC’s Flash Gamercards. Check it out below. (Just hover over the gamerpic, and it’ll change the gamercard text to “Personal Avatar.”)

That’s all our detective work for this morning! We’ll have more NXE information, particularly about avatars, later today!
