Now that Gears of War 2 has been released, you have probably seen some lucky members running around with golden lancers and hammerbursts. We have been lucky enough to have been given 10 codes to give away on our site! Therefore, that means another comment contest for you all to win. To enter, simply answer this question, and we’ll pick some winners next week.

Question:

If you had to choose between a Golden Lancer or Golden Hammerburst, which would you choose?

    Definitely the golden Lancer Assault Rifle. Who wouldn't run from a glistening, beautifully gilded chainsaw of death? It's already a useful weapon, and iconic of the Gears of War series. It's a weapon that's instantly recognizable and near and dear to many gamers' hearts. It's got a high rate of fire, large ammo capacity, decent damage with sustained barrages, and it's one of the most accurate automatic weapons in the world of video games. It's also (according to story) one of the most consistently-used weapons in COG history, as noted by the older Lancer from the Pendulum Wars ( http://gearsofwar.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Lancer.gif).

    But, Devin, why choose me to receive one of the coveted golden weapon codes? Well, my motivation is simple. I'm not only a huge fan of the game, bit I'm also actually really good friends with one of the lead designers at TriForce, one of the first companies to construct a 1:1 replica of the Lancer and produce it for retail, but I just can't afford the $949.99 price tag. I know he didn't get the Limited Edition and he couldn't make it to Midnight Madness, and I want to make him jealous for a change. :-p Here's hoping I get picked!

      Very cool, but sadly, we ended this contest a few weeks ago, and it doesn't look like we will be able to get any new codes. However, we do have a new GoW2 contest coming very soon :D

    Definitely the Golden Lancer! The regular Lancer is awesome and a Gears of War exclusive weapon…but the Golden Lancer gives it a little bit more flair and is just outstanding!!!
