Bungie announce yesterday, in their standard weekly update, that the push-to-talk system in ‘Halo 3‘ was getting an update alongside the multiplayer changes coming in mid-January.  No longer will you be required to push a button before speaking in order for people to hear you, at least in parties with less than 6 players.  If you and your crew hate the push-to-talk feature then you can always jump into a party thanks to the NXE and enjoy an 8-person open chat.

Push-to-talk became second nature while gaming in ‘Halo 3′ so I’m not sure how needed this is now but what do you all think about it? Do you prefer the in-game chat or have you started using party chat even when you are all in the same match?
