Xbox 360 – Official Console Of TSA?

By | January 13, 2009 | Xbox 360 |

Although it isn’t officially endorsed by any means, we still find it interesting that the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) is using the Xbox 360 as the full size video game console example on the security board above. The picture was taken by one of our users – Seeson, and well, next time you are flying, be sure to point this out to any PS3 fanboys that you are with.

Just out of curiousity, how many people have carried an Xbox 360 onto an airplane?

(raises hand sheepishly) I have…it was for the Kingdom for Keflings press tour. It had to come out of the backpack and go in its own little gray container to go through security. I was freaked out that the Xrays would ruin the memory somehow and we wouldn't have a game to demo!

    I haven't brought a 360…but I've brought a laptop plenty times…and I think it'd get the same treatment…

I take it with me every time I travel so several times a year, it's fine, just a bit of a pain taking it out of carry on and putting it through the machines.

The funniest time I've had is someone who had no idea what it was, and starting asking all sorts of questions about game consoles, I convinced them to get a 360 though I guess I'm an NZ Xbox Ambassador for a reason :D Trixie would be proud.

I flew with it once, for last year's winter break (this year's I drove home for). I bundled it up nicely, kept it in my carry-on. Then realized I'd need to take it out. Ya it was a hassle, but I wouldn't check that, ever. That'd just be a great birthday/christmas present – I set up my 360 and get some delicious red rings. I'd prefer that to not ever happen (again).

I have a friend who flies with his in a backpack regularly without any trouble other than you have to take it out to get run though the x-ray each time

I took on a plane in the summer I made sure the bag I had it in was very padded.

I went to my cousin's house and brought it on the plane. I wasn't as worried as the one time I brought my paintball gun, that was bad…
