EA just let us know that their new Facebook mini-application, Godfather II ’s Crime Rings is finally live! It seems this application is still in Beta, but after using it for about 30 minutes to an hour, I didn’t encounter any bugs or problems, so it seems pretty stable. Here’s how EA sees the game, and really, we couldn’t say it better.

Do you have what it takes to be the Don? Find out by fighting your way up off the streets and building up a syndicate that will make you one of the most powerful mobsters in the criminal underworld. Start as a Soldier carrying out hits against enemy families. Gain influence in your family and buy your first racket. Build up a crime ring in one of your family’s businesses – adult entertainment, construction, gun running, etc. – and gather wealth and influence. When it’s time, make your play to be the Don! But be careful, there are plenty of people waiting to take you down. Good luck!

Key Game Features:

  • Build your career as a mobster.  To be successful, you have to take the Don’s view – managing illegal rackets, allocating guards for defense, and managing relationships with other mobsters to advance your career at others’ expense.
  • Earn wealth and power to level your way up the ranks from a Solder all the way up to a Don by attacking other mobsters, taking over their rackets, and defending them against rival Families.
  • With each new rank, unlock new clothes and accessories for your avatar imported from the upcoming video game.
  • Show off your custom avatar on your Facebook profile so all your friends can check out your mobster and your mobster rank.
  • Play against your friends – or forge alliances with them to take down other mobsters.  Make new friends by working with Family members to advance your organization up the leader boards against other crime families.
  • With seven different types of illegal rackets and four types of attacks – from Hits to Bombings, Raids, and Takeovers – you’ll have plenty of strategies to use in building your criminal empire and rising to become a Don.

So how does this sound to you? Personally, I’ve found it to be pretty cool. Oh and while you’re on Facebook, don’t forget to check out 360Sync’s blog network, and see if you can find some of the 360Sync staff on Facebook.
