The 5,000 jobs to get axed over the coming year have included the team at the GamerScore blog, the blog was closed down recently with a final post linking to some of the other official sources available for Microsoft, but it was assumed the team would get placed in other areas of the company.

Today though Chris Paladino (CPaladino) has twittered the sad news.

There’s been an immediate outpouring of support for the team (with more coming every minute) which shows you how important both the blog, video and audio podcast are to the community.

They’re all wonderful people that are great at their job, while it’s sad the GamerScore Blog team is no more, if the 1UP team is any indication i’m sure they won’t have touble finding another job, the whole 360Sync team wishes them the best of luck for the future.
