Where to start really for this contest? We all knew that the Mythic Maps were being highly sought after, especially after only being released through the Halo Wars LCE as of now. When we got our hands on 3 codes for the contest, we knew it was going to be big, just not this big. This contest cracked all of our previous contest records, especially in terms of most comments on a contest.
This contest did crack one other thing too: our servers. Within 10 minutes of Bungie.net linking back to us, our servers crashed, and were down pretty much straight for about 5 hours. They just got the pummeling of their lives. However, this did help exploit a problem in our backend, which once we managed to fix up, left the server running much better than before!

i don't mind the first 2 but the third 1 which what "Look hold still YOU said you wanted the bungie helmet" when my entry was "HEY…You did ask for flaming recon" my entry was posted first as well. i agree that mine and that1 shouldn't have won because i seen better ones for instance there was a jenny craig 1 that actually made me laugh. but ya if you were going to pick 1 that involved a helmet you shouldn't have went with 1 that copied my response(that was posted on the first day) so much. its the same thing with a little change in words ( its like someone grabbed a thesaurus) regardless though congratulations to the winners.

You're leaving because your comment wasn't picked out of over 830+ entries? I understand you are a big Halo fan and we appreciate the guys at Bungie linking to the contest to give you guys a chance to win if you hadn't heard of the site. You've got to understand that we wish we had more codes and could have given the map pack to more people. If we had randomly selected entries each comment would have only had a .11% chance of being selected. I think with us going through them all it gave everybody a much better chance.
As far as the helmet/chest piece issue that really doesn't matter. The chest armor does trigger the fire but the helmet is actually what's on fire. There's no way of knowing why Bungie made it that way but we can't do anything about that.
If people hadn't wasted so much effort voting everything down and actually voting for ones they liked the prizes could have been awarded faster and maybe it would have been easier to spot some better ones. Again, a small flaw in the system that we've learned from and will take into consideration with the next contest that we hope all of you will come back for.
Congrats to the winners! Good job to the 360Sync staff for sifting through all those posts. I think you made some good choices based on the entries! Keep it up!
The first two I think are alright, however the third one is completely generic and IMO should not have won, but I guess I'm not the one judging the contest am I? oh well.

I take classes at my high school in law, and learned that if you purchase an electronic device, over the price of 39.99, and you purchased it under the age of 18 w/out a legal parent or guardian, you LEGALLY can rule over any policies from ANYWHERE!!!! So fuck Bungie, I'll buy the game, download the material, and return it back to walmart!!!! YOU LIKE THAT!?!?!?!?!

1st one was funny, original, it was a classic.
The 2nd and 3rd ones were very mediocre though. I saw many better ones but at the end of the day it really comes down to opinion and it's whichever one appeals most to the judges that wins.
No these probably aren't the best 3 replies though we should just be happy that someone got the maps, I don't think anyone has realised yet that these are 360sync's codes and because they're theirs and not yours then it's their choice and not ours.
The only one that really doesn't deserve to win is the 3rd but that's only because there were about 500 entries along the lines of "Look hold still YOU said you wanted the Bungie helmet!!!" and it really isn't that creative.

As stated earlier, the biggest problem was the amount of comments, and the fact that we wanted to award the codes in a timely manner. Sure, some entries may have been better, but at the end of the day, 3 people are going to win, and we surely can't please everyone. We'll have some things in place so that we can gather user input into future decisions (excluding contests that have random winners). No need to get angry though, the maps will be available soon to all users, and future contests will be held here on 360Sync. We have a reputation for holding some of the best contests around, and will continue to demonstrate that in the future.
Even though 2 of them sucked I give mad props to Goon360! Great job and I hope you'll enjoy them! The other two, I don't know. It seems you two got lucky, but anyways enjoy the maps and try not to rub it in our faces ^__^

Pretty much echoing what everyone else has said, 1st one is good, 2nd is mediocre and the 3rd is pathetic. Not that I've checked, but out of 830+ entries I would've thought that there would be 3 that at least made me chuckle.

Sadly, (and I know that a lot of people won't believe me) as well as I can remember (I'm about 85% sure), Ecl1pse is right about the Wal-Mart thing. I took a senior level Business Law course last semester that dealt primarily with the law of contracts. The only time that a minor can be held to a contract that they enter is if they are an emancipated minor and the good or service is deemed a necessity by a court (and even then, they're only under quasi contract liability).
If he were to buy the game and then rescind the contract, he'd only have a duty to return what remains of the consideration. He could flat-out tell them that he used the code and they couldn't do anything about it. However, I imagine that he'd have to go through a lot of red tape to eventually prevail.
Long story short, hopefully he does it and then leaves forever.
that will be my exact plan of action when I get it……….. now I heard it comes out in 2-3 weeks, so I will probably buy it instead…..LOL…… but, If I wanted to do that, sadly enough, I easily could….. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!
The third one makes no sense, the helmet isn't what makes the fire, its the chest piece.

LOL…there's a general copytright law here in canada that says once software is opened, you cannot, and in fact the store is not allowed to, take it back. you can only exchange it for another copy of the exact same thing…which could get you more codes technically…lol
