‘Section 8,’ TimeGate Studios’ upcoming large-scale, sci-fi first person shooter, puts you in the 8th Armored Infantry in battle against the rebelling Arm of Orion while exploring majestic alien worlds. ‘Section 8′ features a campaign where you, a new volunteer in the 8th Armored Infantry, venture to different planets to help free captured colonies from the armies of the Arm of Orion and work towards discovering what lead to the Arm’s invasion in the first place. The multiplayer experience is player-driven and dynamic promising that no two games of ‘Section 8′ will ever be the same.
In multiplayer you are able to create custom loadouts where you spec out your power armor and weapons before jumping in to the battle. Six different loadouts can be saved, named and even be switched before each respawn into the battlefield. Not only can you customize your player and tweak him throughout the game you can enter the battle from any place on the map via the “burn-in spawning” which almost completely eliminates spawn camping, even if it is a legitimate strategy. While dropping in from 15,000 feet to anywhere on the map you are also able to make adjustments by hitting the brakes and either avoiding or heading straight for an enemy. It is possible to land on an enemy and score a one-hit kill. Already on the ground and need a little extra help? You can call in deployable turrets and on-demand vehicles to any location given you have the points to do so and an open sky above you. These two things alone will completely change the way you play multiplayer, which will allow for 16+ players on the console ane 32+ on the PC.
To add even more dynamic action to the online multiplayer teams will be able to participate in dynamic combat missions “DCMs” and when they do their opponent will have the opportunity to disrupt that via their anti-DCM. These missions will offer a reward to which ever team successfully completes or stops their opponent from completing it and could even bring your team back from the brink of defeat to the edge of victory.
Without taking a look at the trailer or seeing the game in action it’s really hard to understand what makes this title unique but let me assure you it will bring hours of fun to you and your friends and each game will be drastically different from the last. When more videos, screenshots or news becomes available we’ll be sure to let you all know because this isn’t a game you are going to want to miss.
