The Rickenbacker 325 and Gretsch Duo Jet guitars are hailed as two of the signature, most celebrated instruments played by John Lennon and George Harrison throughout their careers, respectively. They will be made available for $99.99 in the U.S. and in continental Europe for €99.99 and for £89.99 in the UK. These wireless instrument controllers join the previously announced Höfner bass controller, a large-scale replica of the bass famously used by Sir Paul McCartney, and the Ringo Starr inspired and Ludwig-branded Rock Band 2 drums, with a classic pearl finish and vintage replica Beatles kick drum head. All controllers will be available for the Xbox 360 and will be compatible with all Rock Band titles.

Also announced, The Beatles: Rock Band Pre-Order Club officially goes live today. North American and European fans who pre-order any version of the The Beatles: Rock Band at a participating retailer will be given an access code to officially join the Pre-Order Club.  After entry of the code, consumers will gain access to breaking news and exclusive behind the scenes elements.

The guitars looks pretty awesome but I just do not like the strum bar on the Rock Band guitars so I will most likely pass.

Same here. I like the idea but I don't like the strum bars either. Pass for me too.

If my guitar ever breaks, I'll probably just buy another Les Paul. I don't think that I can be convinced that there's a better one. Especially since they run about $20 now…

I am using a Les Paul currently as well, when my breaks(maybe even before) I will go and pick up one of the Guitar Hero World Tour guitars, I was really impressed when I tried it out and would love to have one, just don't have the money to pick one up yet :p

I'm not sold on the game right now, because of how little I actually know about what the game will have. It's been said that it's not just another RB and will be a different type of game. What that means beyond setlist, I don't know. So no preorder for me.

And I have no plans to buy any more plastic guitars. I'm fine with the X-plorer. If I were getting anything, I'd be modding my GH:WT drums. But I'm fine for now.

All i'm going to ask is why the fuck would they choose The Beatles.

It's mainly 30-40 year olds that listen to that kind of slow rock music.

Oh and no i'm not saying they suck I haven't got onto that yet, atm i'm just saying from a marketing prospective Rockband made a very stupid move.

Now I personally don't like The Beatles very much, the songs will be incredibly easy as The Beatles practically created rock and are just as talented as the current pop rock poser bands.

They should have done a Rockband 70's and included lots of chill songs and lots of awesome shit like Iron Maiden, Venom, Hendrix, Clapton, Sabbath(with dio), Diamond Head and many others too.

I guess we just live in a very mediocre world, don't buy this shit.

You may not like The Beatles but they are without a doubt one of the BIGGEST bands in the world and if any band deserves a stand alone game it is The Beatles.

I personally am not a big fan I like a few songs like Help! and Come Together but I definitely think this will end up being a great game and I am planning on picking it up.

They were one of the biggest bands in the world.

Like I said it's mainly 30-40 year olds that still listen to The Beatles and such and most people who play Guitar Hero or Rockband are 13-25 years of age.

It'd be like if they made Rockband Elvis, if you were one of the few who still like Elvis you would likely support the game and its developers no matter how stupid it is from a marketing prospective and how much Elvis sucks compared to bands today.

If you complain for some strange reason because Elvis was around before the Beetles then think about this, would you think that a Rockband game based around the band Amon Amarth whom are Viking Metal would be a smart move by it's developers?

I'm not saying the game will be shit but really music has come quite far since the 60's and a band like the Beetles though they may be legendary they would be considered absolute shit if it were around 10+ years later.

Oh and no i'm not into the faggy lil techno, poprock scene crap I hate that shit and yes I agree that a game based around that type of music would be worse than Rockband Beetles.

The Beatles weren't "slow rock music". Anybody thats able to say that honestly hasn't listened to their work.

The Beatles may not be the "popular" thing right now, but they were a major influence on pretty much every single band thats come after them – and they fully deserve their own game – much more than Aerosmith or Metallica

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/wayzey wayzey

But my point is that economically it is a bad decision since very VERY few people will hear Rockband:Beetles and jump out of their seats in excitement.

They were one of if not the biggest influence on the music industry but the thing is they weren't that great. Sure they were talented but if it was simply based on talent then why isn't there a Rockband:Hendrix? I'm not against the beetles i'm just saying the the idea of Rockband:Beetles is laughable.

Oh and I agree GH:Aerosmith was a bad choice though Aerosmith are one of the few rock bands I respect. GH:Metallica was a great choice, Metallica has very complex riffs and really the first 4 Metallica Albums were genius, the Beetles in their entirety aren't near as good as the shittest Metallica song from those albums.

Oh and if u go on about influences then tell me would Rockband: Elvis or Rockband: Black Sabbath be very successful? Now I guess it depends of Sabbath since if it contains Iron Maiden, Venom, Diamond Head and other awesome 60's and 70's metal bands it would be quite decent though I doubt they would do that. Or how about Rockband: Micheal Jackson or Rockband: Eric Clapton, they'd perform poorly wouldnt they?
