Update: We’ve corrected some major mistakes within the post.
Yesterday, Xboxic dropped some relatively disturbing news: Capcom Dead Rising 2 will not be coming to E3. What does that mean for us fans? Basically, that Dead Rising 2, one of this year’s E3’s hotly anticipated titles, will not be on the show floor for us to play, and relay our thoughts about it to you. Also, none of Capcom’s other titles will be there. While, Dead Rising 2 won’t be there, all of Capcom’s other games, will be there. Their list, condensed to only 360 related titles looks like this:
- Dark Void (PS3, 360, PC)
- Lost Planet 2 (currently 360, PC)
- Dead Rising 2 (will be “behind closed doors”)
- Marvel vs Capcom 2 (digital release for PS3, 360)
- Capcom Mystery Game #1 (playable in booth!)
- Capcom Mystery Game #2 (announced at a press conference!)
Now you must be wondering “why.” Well, the truth is,
Dead Rising 2 is the only game we won’t be able to showcase at E3, because it’s at an early stage of development and the team is not comfortable having anyone else demo the code.
We’re very saddened to hear this news, since 3 of our staff are going to be at E3, but we understand Capcom’s predicament. As an appology, we will accept copies of Dead Rising 2 to give away. And as consolation to you, fans and readers, we’ve embedded the full initial trailer below.
