Update: There isn’t going to be an entire Green Day Rock Band game, but there is going to be a three song track pack featuring the songs “21 Guns,” “Know Your Enemy,” and “East Jesus Nowhere.”  We will be seeing more Green Day in the future, but no details have been released yet.

According to an interview with Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong on KROQ FM, there will be an entire Green Day Rock Band game by the end of 2009.

Here is a script of what was said in the interview from Gamespot.com:

Billie Joe Armstrong: “Yeah we’re doing a whole Green Day Rock Band.” (emphasis added)

As for when that will happen, Armstrong said, “I’m not sure. Soon. Not like this week soon, but this year soon. I think by the end of the year.”

Harmonix has not replied to comments yet related to the new game.  It could just be a downloadable album or track pack, but it seems that it could be an actual game.
