Big Surf Island Is Out!

As of this morning, the Big Surf Island DLC for Burnout Paradise has been released.  Either way, here are some new tidbits of information on Burnout Paradise’s latest DLC Big Surf Island that Criterion Games has dropped.

First off, the content is priced at 1000 Microsoft Points.  Depending on your region that will cost you a certain amount of real money.  Here’s a list of how much it would cost in various currencies:

• $12.99 USD
• $15.99 CAD
• €12.99 EUR
• £9.99 GBP

If you’re not in one of these areas, you can use this converter to figure out how much it would cost you.  Now on to bigger and better things!  Crash TV Episode 34 has hit and in with it brought a ton of new information on the Big Surf Island DLC.  Here’s what can be learned from the show:

• New island specific license and 9 new cars along with it
• The one that has been shown already is the Carson Dust Storm, and when you beat the island-only Burning Route (time trial) you are awarded with the Carson Dust Storm Superturbo (seen at 1:40 in the video)
• Here’s a list of the other cars that were shown off during the show:
  • Olympus Governor
    • The first Olympus available for offline use
  • Annihilator Street Rod
    • Awarded for completing the Island License
• 15 new events on the island
  • New event type called Island Tour, which doesn’t use roadways much

Last but not least, the game has also received an update to its achievements.  All 5 of the new achievements are going to be worth 110 Gamerscore, rounding off the game’s total achievement-worth at 1250 GS.
