For a Guitar Hero game, Activision has been very silent on Van Halen. It had little, to pretty much no presence at E3, and we still have yet to really get any firm details on the game. In fact, rumor has it that GameStop has even refunded any pre-orders for the game.
In our opinion, we thought something was wrong, but low and behold, we got an early set of achievements for the game, which is usually a sign that the game will come out. The full list of 46 achievements (of which 16 are secret) are embedded below!
What do you all think, will Guitar Hero Van Halen see the light of day, and if so, will you be purchasing it?

5 Star all songs on expert? Guitar Hero has no idea how to do proper achievements. How in the world do they expect one player to master all of the instruments at the expert level.
I agree. the GH games tend to have very hard achievements.
Five starring all the songs is not really that hard of a feat, with a little practice it can easily be done and only the hardcore achievement hunters would go after them, unless they are just good at the game.
Like me, I don't go for specific achievements like some people, I just play and unlock them on the way(which is why I don't have the complete tutorial achievements in Metallica or World Tour)
no offense dante but id like to see you five star eruption. just beating the song was a huge feat for me
I didn't even try to five star it because that's not my play style but considering the song was Full Combo'd less than a week after Activison sent out the free copies is saying something.
Time to get something off of my chest. I hated the Guitar Hero: World Tour achievement list. I hated that they essentially reused the same list for GH: Metallica. I was sickened when I found out that they were doing pretty much the same thing for GH: Hits. I'm not surprised that this list looks, for the most part like the other three. It's not very much fun to try to get the same achievements over four games within a year. I loved GH: 3, but over the last year, Activision has been a huge letdown. The fact that my friends won't play any of the Guitar Hero games with me, but I can usually get four together for Rock Band in a cocaine heartbeat, says it all.
Long story short, this will be the first rhythm game that I don't buy. Maybe if I can find it for ten bucks in a year I'll check it out, but I'm not paying $60 for it. As far as Activision goes, I'll probably only buy their one big GH game a year (like GH5). It's gotten to the point that they've whored this franchise so far into the ground that I can't stay 100% loyal anymore.

Van Halen is just flat out a terrible band to make a game based on(nothing against the band, but they just don't deserve their own game)
Also even if I have World Tour and it is already in it and I can play it whenever, I will not even consider buying it if Hot for Teacher(their BEST song) is not on the game. I don't care if I have played the song a million times, not including that in a Van Halen game would just be a terrible decision, it would be like not including "Master of Puppets" in GH Metallica, or not including Stairway to Heaven in a Led Zeppelin game.

i understand its your opinion and all but Van Halen is not a "terrible" band. you've obviously never heard any of their songs other than hot for teacher. I have the game right now and i think its awesume. aside from the almost impossible achievements. they even have stacys mom and semi charmed life in it how bad can it possibly be?
I didn't say they were a terrible band, I like Van Halen. I said they would make a terrible full band game. They don't deserve it. Only "Legendary" bands deserve a game and Van Halen is not a legendary band. A huge band? Most definitely but not legendary.
