Update 1: Major Nelson has said that there has been a last minute scheduling change, and the TMNT and ‘Splosion Man releases have been swapped. So we’re starting off with the only 800 MSP title, and after that, all 4 of the others are 1200 MSP. I guess you can stop paying attention after July 22nd, if you don’t plan on dropping some large wads of cash on these titles.

Earlier this morning, Major Nelson posted the list of XBLA games that will be releasing for this year’s Summer of Arcade Promotion.  However, either your wallet will feel really light by the end of it, or you will have only picked up a title or two.  Of the 5 titles announced to be part of this promotion, 4 are priced at 1200 Microsoft Points ($15USD), and only one is priced at the previous norm of 800 MSP.  With the recent rise of XBLA game prices from 800 MSP to 1200 MSP, some people, including myself, are claiming that 1200 MSP will be the new 800 MSP. How soon until we see XBLA games priced at 1600 MSP? I’m going to go out on a limb and say sooner rather than later, likely before the end of the year.  After all, we know the holiday season is when publishers like to drop big titles, which could include the Xbox Live Arcade as well.

Either way, here is the list of this Summer of Arcade’s releases along with dates and prices:

Looking at those, which are you interested in? Now, which are you still interested in after seeing the price?
