Update 1: Prestige Edition confirmed to be priced at $149.
Last night, Community Manager for Infinity Ward Robert Bowling, or better known as FourZeroTwo, posted an unboxing video of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Prestige Edition. Let me be the first here to say that man does it look awesome. The only thing I’d be concerned with is the price, which you can likely expect to be around $200 USD if not more. But enough of that, and let’s get onto the video, after which we’ll have concise information on what comes with each version.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will come in 3 flavours: Standard, Hardened and Prestige. Both the Hardened and Prestige versions will come with a code for a downloadable copy of the original Call of Duty for the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what each version will include.
Standard Edition ($60):
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Game Disc and Manual
Hardened edition ($80):
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Game Disc and Manual, Metal Casing, Art Book, Original Call of Duty for XBLA or PSN.
Prestige Edition ($150):
All Content found in Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition plus Fully Functional Night Vision Goggles and a Soap McTavish Head for displaying the goggles.
So how much of a hardcore Modern Warfare fan are you? Are you going to get the Prestige edition or the Hardened Edition? Personally, I’m going to look into the Prestige edition, just because those night vision goggles are absolutely bad-ass, but it all really depends on how reasonable the price is.
[Thanks to Xboxic for the detailed breakdown.]
