Cliff Bleszinski and the folks at Epic Games are busier than a Locust Horde undermining Manhattan.
Not only have they released a 4th update which fixed exploits and optimized Gears 2 even further, but they added experience points in Horde, are holding a Gears Universe panel at ComiCon with the still-in-development film’s writer and director, releasing a new Gears novel at the end of the month and are providing us with a brand new Map Pack in the form of Dark Corners.
For me the coolest thing about this pack is the deleted mission which has Dom leading Marcus through the underground Locust city. Providing players with a stealth option not often seen in Gears, the player’s reward is a chance at glimpsing the everyday lives of the enemy. Add to that new voice-work, animations, and a reworking of the story and you have yourself a quality piece of DLC.
In the following video Bleszinski takes some time to talk with G4 about a myriad of topics from the possibility of players fighting in the Pendulum Wars or even taking part in Emergence Day, the future of Unreal, his apprehension concerning a new console generation, Epic’s new Arcade title “Shadow Complexâ€, pseudo-stealth and how Microsoft might be trying to market to your mom.
