Update 1:  The guitar price was apparently INCREASED since I wrote the post. New price reflected below. I don’t think it can be placed in the category it’s in anymore either.

As of earlier this morning, Guitar Hero 5 joined the ranks of games like Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Monkey Island, and Fable II in that it finally has a section for itself in the Avatar Marketplace.  But, as with the items released beforehand, most things that are available are overpriced. Microsoft seems to have missed the idea of “microtransactions.”  While everything is overpriced, some of the items, compared to other items in the same category, are significantly cheaper. Here’s a small look at some items in both categories.

Significantly Overpriced

• Male Studded Wristband – 80 MSP – $1USD
• Female Studded Wristband – 80 MSP – $1USD
• Male Studded Gloves – 80 MSP – $1 USD

Comparably Better Priced

• Neversoft Scepter – 160MSP – $2 USD
• Guitar – 160 MSP – $2 USD 240 MSP – $3 USD – No longer belongs in this category
