At the end of last week, Halfbrick dropped the news that they had released Rocket Racing, their newest game to Xbox Live Indie Games. This is their third release to the Xbox Live Indie Games, so they are even better versed in the ways of XNA. Who better to explain what the game is about than themselves:
Halfbrick Rocket Racing uses a brand new analogue control system using just the left and right triggers. Press each one to power the rockets on each side of the racing craft, and alternate power between the two to turn and drift around over 40 tracks. The rockets will also serve to boost the craft off nearby walls, so the key to achieving the best times is to grind and slide around the perimeters of each track with speed and finesse.
Next up, we’ve got Trailer #2 for your viewing pleasure.
Having played about 20 minutes of this game so far, I can definitely say there’s a steep initial learning curve, but after you grasp the concept, it becomes really fun. That being said, Halfbrick have also produced a developer tutorial about how to play the game, which we have for you below as well.
Now that that makes you want more, go ahead and download the trial of Rocket Racing. After the trial makes you want to get the full game, it’s only 240MSP, which is even cheaper than some of the avatar accessories, but it’s way more fun.
