Today, Valve announced a fourth gameplay mode for their upcoming zombie-survival game Left 4 Dead 2.  Joining Campaign, Versus, and Survival will be the aptly titled Scavenge mode.

We know Zoey could handle these zombies, but can Rochelle?

Scavenge is a four-on-four game like Versus; one team is the Survivors, the other team is the Special Infected.  The object is simple enough – the Survivors try to round up 16 gas cans that are scattered around the map, and the Infected do everything they can to stop them.  These gas cans are used to power a generator, which racks up the points for the Survivors and adds valuable time to the clock.  The Infected score points by killing the Survivors, destroying the gas cans, and running out the clock.  All of this should add up to a streamlined multi-player experience.

We’re curious to hear what you guys think of this.  Does this push anyone over the edge into “buying it” territory?  Were most of you going to buy it, and this is just a bonus?  Sound off in the comments!
