Everyone’s favorite trash talking masked mercenaries are back, but this time they’ll have some backup. The video below showcases a newly minted Army of Two multiplayer mode known as “Extraction”, a new iteration on the ever popular wave survival modes cropping up in recent titles.
Pitting players against wave after wave of AI enemies is all the rage these days, but Army of Two: The 40th Day takes this concept and provides an intriguing kick in the pants. Teams of four will face off against several unique enemy types, but instead of trying to hole up in a single position they will be forced to travel through four separate battle zones in order to successfully escape the combat zone and win the day. Difficulty will be amped up accordingly the more waves you defeat, culminating in a near-suicidal rush for the extraction point.
Players itching to get their hands on the game now have more reason to pre-order this title, as purchasing the game ahead of time will unlock this multiplayer mode a full month before its scheduled to go online for those of us lame enough to wait until the day of release.
