We may be well into Fall, but Twisted Pixel wants to make sure that the Summer of Arcade doesn’t die.  Today, they released a title update for the odd, yet mesmerizingly fun Splosion Man.  The purpose of the update was three-fold, and it ranges from much-anticipated, to much-needed, to flat-out weird.

First, the update adds the ability to award the player avatar accessories.  Splosion Man is the first game to do this free of charge.  A total of four items can be unlocked – two male shirts, and two female shirts.  If you’ve already fulfilled the requirements to earn the shirts, you’ll be awarded them at the game’s main menu.  If you haven’t, you’ll be able to preview what your avatar will look like wearing the accessories.

Since launch, Splosion Man’s biggest downfall has been laggy online play.  This was especially glaring because online multiplayer is incredibly fun to play.  However, after a few levels, the lag would be so bad that your party would have to quit and start over.  Fortunately, Twisted Pixel addressed this in the update.  According to them, the lag issues should be resolved and multiplayer should run smoothly.
