The ‘Win Lots of Dr Pepper’ Contest

DAKing240 By DAKing240 | October 27, 2009 | Contests, Xbox 360 |

I think its safe to say that we have had some interesting and fun here at 360Sync, but this contest has the chance to top the best of them. Dr Pepper is giving us the opportunity to let our community interact with their MLG team, and give away some awesome prizes, too!

The Dr Pepper Facebook page  is hosting a live chat with their Pro-Circuit Halo team, Str8 Rippin, on Thursday, October 29th at 6PM Eastern Standard Time.

Want the opportunity to have your question answered first during the chat? Leave your toughest gaming questions for Str8 Rippin on the Dr Pepper Facebook Discussion Board. The team will select the ten best questions to kick off the chat on Thursday, October 29th at 6PM EST.

However, 5 of the 10 questions to kick off the chat will come from the 360Sync community! If we pick your question as one of the 5 that we submit to the chat, you’ll be entered to win a seriously killer prize pack.  The prize pack consists of a $50 BestBuy.com gift card, and a year’s supply of Dr Pepper.

We’re giving you two shots at the prizes.  First, you can enter by simply leaving your question for the Str8 Rippin team in the comments.  Again, the best 5 comments will be submitted to the chat, and a random winner will be picked from the 5 submissions.

Second, we have another $50 BestBuy.com gift card and another one-year’s supply of Dr Pepper that we’ll be giving away to two lucky followers on Twitter.  You can enter by giving an @ reply to 360Sync, with the #str8chat hashtag, and you’ll be entered to win. Make it interesting, and we’ll also be submitting the best questions asked on Twitter to the chat.

Rules: Contest is only open to those in the United States.

Lastly, SoCal residents, keep your eyes open because 360Sync has a seriously cool contest planned just for you!  Details will come in the next few days.

We've all heard it before "Gaming is not a real job" & a fan base within the gaming community is hard enough to get, but how do you market yourselves beyond that for a general acceptance of pro-gamers in the "real job" world?

What makes a game a good candidate for pro gaming? Is it just popularity, because of the obvious number of people that play, or does it come down to mechanics and quality of the game as well? Are there any less popular games that would do well in a pro gaming setting for competition?
