For all you Metalheads out there, lay off the scorching hot power chords and epic face melting solos so you can hear just what goodies Tim Schafer and his pals at Double Fine have in store for you. Released little over 3 weeks ago, the team behind the epic action/adventure title Brutal Legend are going to rock your world with two entirely new multiplayer maps.
The Tears of the Hextadon map pack will expand the multiplayer mode with two radical new maps. The first, Circle of Tears, has your forces doing battle in a circular battlefield carved out by what sounds to be the vile Sea of Black Tears. Players will have to make their way around this treacherous crater in order to duke it out with their opponent. Not to be outdone, Death’s Fjord will have you battling bands on the icy mountain slopes of a long forgotten mountain pass from ages past. A whole host of ripe fan geysers lie below, but only those foolhardy enough to venture from the protection of the mountains into the vulnerable valley below will be able to reap these rewards.
Due out November 3rd after a payment of 400MS Points, all players who download the pack will receive a new in-game guitar, the Blade of Ormagoden, for absolutely free. DLC being released a mere month after release? Why so quick on the downloadables, Tim?
“I play Brütal Legend online every night,” he admits via press release. “And I need more maps! Circle of Tears is named after the crying of my vanquished foes on the battlefield, and Death’s Fjord is obviously a tribute to my Nordic ancestors, and their love of fan geysers and… Well, actually I just thought the name was cool. See you online!”
Sounds like a brutal challenge to me.
