Unlock Dragon Age: Origins Items by Playing Dragon Age: Journeys

Dragon Age: Origins hit store shelves yesterday.  Bioware’s newest RPG looks promising.  If you picked up the game already, or plan on getting it then there is a way you can unlock real in-game items by playing the Dragon Age: Journeys online flash game.  This is similar to the Fable II items unlocked by playing the flash Fable II game on xbox.com.  Make sure you log in with your EA account linked to your Xbox Live account before playing the game to get your items.  There are three in-game items to unlock by playing the flash game.

Embri’s Many Pockets

Effects

  • +5% Fire Resistance
  • +5% Cold Resistance
  • +5% Electricity Resistance
  • +5% Nature Resistance
  • +5% Spirit Resistance

    • Requirements

    To earn Embri’s Many Pockets in Dragon Age: Origins, save the Grey Warden Martine by completing The Missing Warden quest.

    Amulet of the War Mage

    Effects

  • +5% to Fire Damage
  • +5 % to Cold Damage
  • +5% to Electrical Damage
  • +5% to Nature Damage
  • +5% to Spirit Damage

    • Requirements

    To earn the Amulet of the War Mage in Dragon Age: Origins, you must complete Dragon Age Journeys on the hard combat difficulty setting. The difficulty setting must be set to hard for the entire play through. The combat difficulty setting is chosen after character creation.

    Helm of the Deep

    Effects

  • +2 Constitution
  • +10 Mental Resistance
  • +10 Physical Resistance

    • Requirements

    To earn the Helm of the Deep in Dragon Age: Origins, you must earn all five achievements in Dragon Age Journeys: The Deep Roads.

    The Five achievements in the game needed to unlock this item are:

    Bard’s Yarn
    Convince the Bard to join your party.


    The Black Gate
    Reach the gates of Orzammar.


    Darkspawn Warrior
    Kill two monsters in a single attack.


    Ogreific Tactics
    Defeat an Ogre, with all party members at full health.


    Mighty Magic
    Complete the game as Warrior, Rogue, and Mage



    To unlock all three items and all five achievements should take a while, so get started now!  The game starts you out in “The Deep Roads” after your entire party gets killed and you must find your way back to the city.  Once in the city, there are a number of quests you must complete and you will need to build up your party.  Also don’t forget to beat the game on Hard to unlock one of the achievements! You can save your game at anytime too.

      Yeah this little flash game gave me something to do in between classes. And it's cool knowing that I am actually unlocking real in-game items while I'm at it :D

      @bob: I finished the game in about 107 hours (wasn't going for any record breaking times, just enjoying the game) I didn't finish most of the side quests, and toward the end I got impatient and just finished the main quest line.

      Delay that main quest as long as you can and try to get all of the side quests done, once the game ends it definitely left me wanting more. I can't wait for the expansion in March (fingers crossed). And it sucks now because they let you still use that character you completed the game with, but none of your party NPC's talk to you or anything, you can't go back and complete quests you had picked up…only play the new DLC that is released… oh well :)

      The flash game is pretty fun, it's keeping me at bay while I wait to get the actual game ;D
      I have to wait a couple of weeks so I hope to finish the journeys game then get the 360 origins and Start out with my items :D

      your description of how to get the amulet of war mage is wrong.
      at dragonagejourneys itself it says
      “To Earn the Amulet of the War Mage in Dragon Age: Origins, simply sign in to your EA account in Dragon Age Journeys. If you do not have an existing EA account, you can create one by pressing the Login Button on the Main Menu.”
      I logged in and instantly got the “unlocked amulet of the war mage” sign popping up.
      Still not figured out how to actually get the items into the game though. Again, on the site it says
      “Purchase a new copy”(new? what if you already have the game)” of Dragon Age: Origins on PC, Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 and login to your Dragon Age: Origins with your EA account to download your exclusive items earned in Dragon Age Journeys.”(here’s the important part)” Download access expires June 30, 2010″
      So guess that may mean that even if you do unlock items for download in DAJ, you can’t get them onto your DAO game (why have a time limit? and why still say you can download items for the game, 6 months after that became impossible?)
