Capcom’s new IP, Dark Void, got a huge boost today in terms of potential profitability. Plan B Entertainment, Brad Pitt’s production company, has come to terms with Capcom on the rights to make a Dark Void movie. We find this particularily interesting because the game doesn’t even release until Jan 19, 2010. Initial rumors are that there’s a good chance the film will star Brad Pitt. Of course, that’s certainly a good thing because Pitt has a track record of making some pretty awesome flicks.

Dark Void is centered around a pilot, Will, who crashes in the Bermuda Triangle. He discovers himself in “The Void”, which is a place where aliens are planning to use their superior technology to overthrow the human race. Will and other survivors need to find a way to foil the aliens’ plot and save humanity. All in all, it has all the makings for a pretty solid Sci-Fi/Action flick.
