According to a recent email sent out by EA, the Army of Two: The 40th Day demo will be landing on Xbox Live on December 17. Thursday is just around the corner, and we’ll be sure to post more details on the demo as soon as we learn more.
Also, be on the lookout for our upcoming coverage on The 40th Day, from a recent hands-on event in Montreal. Some recent coverage from friends that also made the trip include,

Not only is it incredible fun, it also serves as a nice tutorial (of sorts) for how to succeed in the other modes. Unlike other Team DMs, where one or two outstanding players on a team can make up for others who are apt to shoot their toes off, The 40th Day’s Co-Op Deathmatch really does place an emphasis on working with your partner to effectively pick off the opposing foes.

I have to mention one other thing. The PSP version of this game was a blast to play. I definitely had a “wow this shit is great†moment when I first got a chance to play it on PSP. It’s like a Contra mixed with Killzone and it’s fire on PSP. They did a very nice job on bringing the game to PSP. And yes you can partner up with another PSP owner to get some co-op fun in.

One difference from older games like Smash TV is that the two players don’t need to be on the same screen, so in these split off moments, it’s a little more fun and interesting than usual since your bud won’t be on view. That it translates as well as it does to this portable rendition gives the game promise and a confident loyalty to the heart of the franchise.
Sarcastic Gamer: Army of Two sequel takes the Bromance to eleven
In all, this game just got put squarely on my January radar. While there is a ton of great games coming out in the weeks after the New Year, Army of Two: the 40th Day was a fun, co-op shooter in the vein of a Gears of War, that I had a lot of fun with.
