Tomorrow, Tecmo releases it’s newest venture into the puzzle genre, the aptly titled Puzzlegeddon. Puzzlegeddon has been on PC for over a year now, and it’s ready to make it’s impression on XBLA. That’s all fine and good, but what exactly is Puzzlegeddon?
Puzzlegeddon is a mix of action, puzzle, and strategy. It’s essentially a match-making competition to defend from and attack your opponents. However, something tells us that it’ll be much more complex than that.

There’s three different modes that you can play: Battle Royale, Deathmatch, and Poison Peril. Battle Royale is a “score more points than everyone else” slugfest, and the objective to Deathmatch is to blow all your opponents off the planet. Both of these modes can be played against bots, or in up to six person online multiplayer. Poison Peril appears to be a singleplayer “survive as long as you can” mode.
Regardless of what mode is played, there’s been one word we’ve heard over and over again to describe Puzzlegeddon – addicting. Puzzlegeddon will cost $10 (800 MSP), and in our experiences, ‘addicting’ is usually worth 10 bucks.
