Mission Impossible: Front Mission Evolved Releasing This Spring

I love big mechs and I cannot lie. Luckily for giant robot lovers out there, Square Enix is here to serve your heavy weapons needs. As publisher they will be teaming up with Double Helix Games to present Front Mission Evolved, scheduled to be released sometime this spring. Front Mission is a staple of mech based warfare simulators, but this time the developers will be giving players full control of their mechanized combat suits in the form of a third-person shooter coupled with high levels of customization and online competitive components.

The story has players taking on the role of Dylan Ramsey, an engineer living in future where the political landscape has shifted beyond recognition with entire nations merging into enormous confederations while wars constantly break out on all fronts. When terrorist’s blow up one of the U.S.C.’s highly valuable orbital elevators, Ramsey finds himself embroiled in the military response that is mobilized to eliminate the threat. As a pilot of a high tech weaponized suit called a Wanzer, Ramsey will be able to choose from a whole host of weapons and customizable suit parts in order to blow his way through an explosive storyline filled with politics, intrigue, enormous explosions and equally massive robots.

Players looking for even more challenges can then hop online and test their mettle on the LIVE arena, choosing to lone wolf their way through challenges or engage in team based missions. Again, customization is key to the whole experience so players will be able to trick out their Wanzers just as effectively online as off. Choose from numerous weapons, shoulder attachments, and Wanzer components.
